Motivation
Motivation - "an incentive, inducement or motive, especially for an act" "the mental process, function, or instinct that produces and sustains incentive or drive in human behavior" Motivational research - "the use of certain techniques borrowed from psychology and sociology, especially by advertisers and marketers, to assess consumer attitudes towards products and services" Anyone can achieve success! Quite a statement, but nonetheless true. We are all born equal; there are many factors that contribute to selecting the path one will walk through life. Apart from health, there is really nothing to stop any person from achieving a high goal in life, and some of our greatest achievers are people with some form of disability. It is only the human mind that will intervene and decide whether the road we take will lead to poverty or riches. People born to poverty are unfortunately more likely to accept their lot as all they can expect, opportunities very rarely come their way. It is the person with "motivation" that will rise from this situation and strive for success. So, surely those who are "lucky" enough to be born in an educated society must achieve greater success, one would think! Of course, human nature being what it is, very few take up the chance to achieve success and greatness. Excuses are much easier than effort in the majority of cases. Whether it be lack of time, money or opportunity it is still an excuse to avoid effort and commitment. There are many knowledgeable and respected people available to educate and guide anyone prepared to sacrifice a few hours per week toward personal fulfilment. Alternatively, there is an abundance of written material available - if money is a restriction, libraries are a good source of free information. Plus, in the age of the internet, answers can be a click away. Listed below are highly recommended resources:

Pelmanism - A system of training the memory As a small child my grandmother taught me a game consisting of placing a deck of playing cards face down, the players then attempt to match as many pairs as possible by turning two cards over and remembering where they are placed - that game was called "Pelmanism". Little did I think that fifty years later I would come across that name and the long lost course developed by John Pelman. It is a fascinating and extremely interesting course and one that I highly recommend to anyone. Children would most certainly benefit from John Pelman's teachings as would anyone wishing to enhance their memory. Dr. Joe Vitale together with Pat O'Bryan have resurrected an old copy and have scanned the whole 12 courses and made them available for downloading. Think how much you would benefit by possessing a greatly enhanced memory :
