Website Hosting

Not Sure How to Choose a Good Web Hosting Service?

Whatever you decide remember this -

Your Website is Your Shopfront - Don't Give it to Just Anyone to Host

You have worked hard to get your website exactly how you want it, you have either spent a lot of time or a lot of money to get to this stage.

Now - who are you going to trust to look after your creation and your business?

There are many points to take into consideration when choosing a Website Host -

Amount of Space :
This will depend entirely on the type of website, simple text and normal graphics do not require the amount of space that audio and video content requires. This site has used approximately 40MB of an allowed 500MB. Also check to see what the bandwidth limit is per month.

POP Email Accounts :
If you are going to require email facilities on your website check to see how many email addresses your Host allows.

Control Panel :
Check to make sure the Control Panel is user friendly. Most popular Hosting Companies provide very good Control Panel facilities.

FTP Limits :
The big majority of Hosts provide unlimited FTP transfer, but check this out before signing up. If there is a limit enquire about costs to upgrade (if available.

Support :
Very Important. Make sure the Company has 24 hour support service. It can completely break your business if your website goes down and you cannot contact your Hosting Company. Check to see if they have phone support or just email support. Email support is fine providing it is a 24 hour service and the response time is immediate for urgent requests.

You can contact other webmasters and get feedback about the host they use, visit forums and put potential hosts through a few tests, such as how quickly they respond to an email.

Something as important as Website Hosting should be selected very carefully - price is not necessarily a good indication. If you want reliability, efficient support system, very user friendly Control Panel and some of the best online tools available then take a look at the Third Sphere site. They are not the cheapest ($24.95 per month) but for peace of mind you can't do better.

For cheaper alternatives, but still reliable hosting services you can't go wrong with companies such as Hosting Bay and BlueHost .
